I am an 18 year old graphic design artist attending Drake University in the fall of 2017. I began as an artist as a kindergartener as my mother was an art teacher, and she enrolled me in beginners drawing and painting classes. I continued with these classes until fourth grade, when I began to play the trombone and stopped taking art classes to do private lessons. I played through my sophomore year of high school, after which I began to experiment with photoshop. After a few months I began to teach myself advanced skills, and later moved on to using illustrator. I began to spend all of my free time during the school day in the graphic design lab, and the graphic design teacher suggested I begin taking graphic design electives. I enrolled in advanced graphic design on teacher recommendation for the following semester, and have loved every minute spent designing. I am studying graphic design in college along with other studies, and I hope to continue my passion into my adult life. I have found graphic design as a very captivating form of artistic expression, and to put it bluntly, it can be really hard to pry me from my computer when I am designing. Graphic design has become a passion of mine, as I can merge my other interests, such as athletics, into my art, and because I think I can make some pretty cool looking stuff. Shoutout illustrator.
